Chicken bedding. P&T Poultry ONLY recommended chicken bedding!
Ok this is fantastic bedding, I can not sing its praises enough. Cleaning chickens here is a major job and believe it or not it takes more time than anyother job we do here. It is also very important for poultry health.
It is small chipped wood pieces that the birds love to scratch around to keep turning it over, it does not cake on top like other bedding and is extra absorbant so the amonia smell is kept at bay and of course no dust for birds to suffer.
If i could add one more tip, please please do NOT use straw or hay in your house as you will be putting mites / lice in the house and then be spending £20 or more a month on products to kill them.
Here at P&T Poultry we use the ark maid on the base of the chicken house then the bedding so when it comes to cleaning we go to the house, remove both sides and sweep old bedding through into a wheelbarrow. Our poultry houses are clean, no ammonia and cleaned in minutes with no mites being added.
1 bale should last our 6 hen house about 3 months.
