Electric Poultry Fencing
Now designing our own kits here at P&T we offer quality long lasting kits rather than the false economy kits you can get elsewhere. We DO NOT offer 6v or 9v kits as we know from experience they are NOT UP TO THE JOB! We only offer 12v or mains as we know these will keep the foxes out and long term saves you money! Costs about 4p per week to run.
To set up this kit you join the nets, and spike them in the ground where you require them, then you plug in the energiser and run some lead out cable to the earth spike. You then run the main lead out cable to the on/off switch placed somewhere near the poultry netting, and take the connection from the switch to the netting and you are ready to go. Unlike many others you can either turn the power off at the energiser or if you forget you can also still turn it off at the net so you dont get a painful shock. I don't think others offer this service in their kits.
Electric Poultry netting is ideal for containing all types of poultry (including ducks, geese, turkeys etc.) and keeping predators out (i.e. foxes, dogs, cats, badgers and mink). It is easy to move around so birds can be given new pasture, which minimises the problems of worming and gives pastures time to recover.
Please note our poultry netting is the small mesh version which is 5cm mesh at the bottom, I have seen others offering 12cm mesh at the bottom, meaning our nets carry more than twice the strands and can keep bantams in, whereas some others let fully grown large fowl walk straight through!!!
Our nets are green with black struts so when 15-20 feet away they start to blend in with the background and start to dissapear from view so are not unsightly.

Electric netting sounds scary but it really is not. Please do not be afraid of it as it really is of huge benefit to all those that have purchased it.
When connected to an energiser, an electric current pulses through the strands of the net. If touched it will of course give a jolt but it would be unlikley you would do it again. Dogs and cats also learn very quickly and rarely do they touch it a second time.
All kits are easily switched off near the nets so access is easy and totally pain free - just do not forget to turn it back on again once you have returned outside. You will find them easy to move to new ground if you wish, very flexible in shapes and sizes and now with the green colour almost invisible from 20 feet away. Give your chickens more freedom but also keep them safe and, of course, keep them off of your private piece of garden too.

If your ground is uneven where you are using your poultry netting then I would suggest
extra posts to stop the netting from sagging and earthing out on the ground.
