Total Poultry Solutions

Mites are a big problem.  How do you know if your chickens have Red Mite problems? You will notice two things; firstly your egg production will start to go down as the chickens need to replace the lost blood taken by the Red Mites (which means less energy to produce eggs) and, secondly, the chickens will start to peck each other where they see the infestation usually just at the base of the birds tail feathers. At this point the problem is likely to be causing stress and is getting serious. Keep a close eye out for any pecking behaviour and also any bald, bloody patches appearing on your birds.

TOTAL MITE KILL READY TO USE is Insecticide & Cleaner for professional use against crawling insects such as poultry mites and litter beetles by application to the surfaces in unoccupied domestic and small scale poultry units or outbuildings where poultry is kept.  Optimum control will be achieved by liberally spraying all chicken houses surfaces shortly before dusk when mites start to emerge in large quantities.  Use in sheds, barns, stables or wherever poultry are kept.

Directions for use: Shake before use. Remove birds, eggs, all feed and drinking utensils. Remove all chicken bedding material.  Apply thoroughly especially to harbourages and cracks.  Allow to penetrate for at least 10 minutes to deactivate organic matter and wipe off loosened soil and any excess with a damp cloth. Air thoroughly until residual smell - apart from mild lavender, has dissipated before returning birds to their house. Time will be dependant upon a number of circumstances including temperature and amount of ventilation but should always be in excess of 2 hours.  Re-application may be necessary at 3 day intervals for 3 times to break the life cycle in case of heavy infestations. Ideal for the hobby breeder with small chicken houses.
