Organic 500g Chicken Louse Powder

Organic unique formulation of Louse Powder contains a safe-carrier that does not have carcinogenic effects. Designed to be applied directly to all animals, it is suitable for use in organic farming systems as it falls into the exempt category of products which use only plant oils as active ingredients, as listed in Annexe IIB (Pesticides) of Council Regulation (EEC) No 2092/91 (as amended). It successfully rids animals, including Cattle, Horses and Poultry of both Sucking and Biting Lice; which are normally dealt with separately, and will help to prevent reduced growth rates, which can result from Lice infestation.

I find it best to work the powder from the nape of the neck down the back. To check for mites hold the bird over white paper (if you Can) and move your fingers against the feathers, looking on the skin of the bird and of course on the paper below. 

It works at repelling the Lice over a six week period.

This is a direct 'on the bird' product, applied topically, and is not designed for red mite control.  If you see mites in the house, and if you catch the bird during the day and check it over and find lice or mites, then it is more likey that you have red mites, for which you must get Red Mite controls as the Louse Powder will be ineffective.

If you find a large infestation on the bird, then whilst treating the infestation, it may be advisable to top up the birds diet with Pro-Poultry-Vits to bring it back to health.
